Here you’ll find a mix of clips — new, old, random, and everything in between.
Just scroll, explore, and enjoy whatever catches your eye.

This first clip above is from a previous workshop at Nääs, featuring a group of fiddle players rehearsing a Finnish waltz composed by Arto Järvelä. The recording is from around 2017, I believe.

— and yes, some of the tunes hiding in these videos can be found in the shop.

Ransäter Folk Music Gathering 2013

A clip from Ransäter “Accordion by the Roadside”2013 where two fellow musicians and I formed a temporary trio for a performance.
The tunes we played, in order, are Eklunda Polska #3, Med Ludvig i Sekken, and Metsäkukkia.

Hyllningsvals

Here we’re playing Hyllningsvals, composed in 1931 by the Swedish accordionist Carl Gylling.

Mickes Idépolska

The tune my fiddler friend and I are playing is called Mickes Idépolska, composed by the Swedish diatonic accordionist Mikael Nolervik.

Valse de iamitie

This is one of my own compositions, a waltz called Waltz of Friendship.
This recording was made in 2020 during the Covid pandemic.
I went to Nääs — where we normally hold our workshops — to record it there because of the beautiful acoustics.
I’m quite sure I made a small counting mistake and ended up playing the last part a bit to long. 🙂

Hannas Snolender

This tune is called Hannas Snolender and was composed by the Norwegian musician Ingun Björgo.

Polska efter Johan Skar

This is a polska after Johan Skar, a traditional fiddler from Sweden. The tune is likely from around the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, though it may be even older.

Jenkka på cirkus

Here’s another one of my own compositions, a tune called Jenkka at the Circus.
I’m pretty sure it’s played a bit too fast here — I probably had one cup of coffee too many before recording. 🙂

Flickan Från Åse Nedlagda Kalkbruk

This gentle waltz was composed by Knut Nolervik, the late father of Mikael Nolervik.

Innersta friden

“The Innermost Peace” is a traditional Swedish senpolska originating from Jämtland. The melody is attributed to Arvid Brännlund, but like many folk tunes, its true age and original composer are unknown. It has been passed down through generations of musicians. And this is our version.

Polska efter Snickar Erske

This is actually a slängpolska, but I made my own slow version of the tune, which I think suits the diatonic accordion well.A slängpolska is a lively Swedish folk dance and tune type, characterized by a rotating couple dance and a swinging, rhythmically flowing melody.
